| We have recently (Sept 2007) starting one of our studs "Zeus" in PPT & Dennis has started learning how to be a decoy (the man in the suit that gets bit). We will be training for 'Real Life Scenarios' only. This is Personal Protection not aggression. Our intentions are not to create aggressive APBTs. It takes a very level headed, loyal, sound dog to do this type of work. Our dogs are being trained by a professional trainer who has over 10 years experience in this type of work. He evaluates each dog before doing this type of training with them. The dog must want to do this as well as have the right attitude for it. This type of training can be very rewarding when done the correct way. Understand that having a Personal Protection Trained dog is a dog that you can take anywhere & have Complete and Total Control Over. If you are considering introducing your dog or puppy into this type of training, be sure to have a professional trainer evaluate him or her. This type of training is not something that happens overnight. Be prepared to work very hard at it. It can take anywhere from 1 to 2 years to complete your dog in this type of training.
